Breakfast is a complete & utter challenge for me as most mornings I do not wake up hungry. I am not a sweets person so the idea of a sugary laden bowl of cereal or plate of pancakes, french toast etc. I normally opt for a fresh fruit smoothie and some tea but avocado toast has been my go to when trying to ensure I get my good fats in so I wanted to share a great healthy way to get your breakfast, good fat & protein in of course accompanied by my morning cup of tea.

The works is a green tea blended with Moringa leaf, hibiscus and rose hips a great blend that will cover just about everything you need hence the name “The Works”. This blend works well for with morning breakfast to assist in getting in a dose of vitamins, minerals & nutrients.
Here I grabbed sprouted grain bread and accompanied it with avocado a good fat great for cognitive functions and sprinkled hemp seed and chili sauce (cuz I love my spicy). Hemp seed is filled with nutrition being omega 3 rich, protein packed & full of essential vitamins and minerals. Great to add to your smoothies I recommend 2 tbsp per serving.

Happy Wednesday!! Today I am highlighting one of my go to cold and flu remedies that I administer to my family and I recommend to yours. You of course can purchase Elderberry Syrup in health food stores but everything is better when you make it yourself and know what ingredients are in it. I spoke about starting meditation and gave tips on how to start a 5 minutes mindfulness practice. In a nutshell, mindfulness meditation is the act of tuning in to the thoughts. (I know, I know, you’ve been taught that the key to meditation is to turn off the thoughts) ironically, that is what mindfulness meditation is. Recognizing the thoughts, acknowledging them, and freeing them. All the while ceasing to pass judgement upon ourself and your practice.

Welcome to Wellness Wednesdays
we highlight a wellness favorite for the week in hopes that you are able to gain something from our insights. It is important to take note of the fact that everything recommended by myself Sista Nature of Taylor Made Holistic (TMH) has been tested, used, tried & true to her wellbeing and that I would never recommend anything I have not personally used and tested several times. I think it is to go without saying that everyone is different but let me also reiterate that fact as well. “What works for the goose isn’t always good for the gander” as my mother would say so I highly encourage the journey of becoming in tune with ones self and body, knowing what to put in it & what not, how much to is too much for your body and what is just enough. Wellness care is client centered and relies on ones own willingness to foster their own healing. The immune system is a miraculous system apart of the body, mind, & spirit that is well equipped to heal the body with the proper aide & balance of the mind, body, and spirit. This includes the proper mental care, diet, and physical therapy. Optimal health is the proper balance of all three which allows the immune system to do it’s thing.
Incorporating tea into your daily wellness journey is sure to aide the immune system in it’s fight. Herbs are an integral part of our lives in regards to living so something as simple as having a plant in a room with you fosters wellness & healing of the mind & body. Green tea has a myriad of health benefits and should be incorporated into ones daily regimen as a preventative method of care. The antioxidant properties not only boost the immune system but neutralize the free radicals in the body. Having organic herbs is important to this fact as you want to ensure that you are not ingesting pesticides and other harmful chemicals used in conventional farming these days.
